A quote from Cornelius Hunter's book, "Darwin's Proof", page 19. "The E.coli cell does not want to produce the three proteins if (1) lactose is not present in the environment or (2) simple glucose, a preferred nutrient, is available.". This was an example of preliminary control to initiate transcription. My emphasis.

Tutorial on using tags.
For those rebels who didn't take note of our recommendation, and kept reading, we give our tutorial on using tags. Inside the origins debate, tags are useless. But evolutionists don't want us to know that.
We've written on that multiple times. With standard evolution, I, myself, am an evolutionist. When we except that wolf, coyote and domestic dog species all come from an ancient stock, we're evolutionists. And, of course, if there's biological change, then yes, everyone is an evolutionist.
Other nuances include: One high-profile scientist in the USA is a Christian and an evolutionist, and is called a Creationist by other evolutionists (I won't say who). And we know "Intelligent Design" includes a range of views. Some are evolutionists, and some are atheists, but they are all called Creationists by evolutionists. Not easy to get a handle on, since I'm an evolutionist, an IDer, a creationist, and a transcendentalist.
And then we have another complication in the origins debates. Everyone has an opinion on God and how the Universe and life should be, if there was a God. This is THE major drama in origins, so whether it's atheists, church people, evolutionist or not, or any other tag out there, it's a long road to work out what they're really saying, and who they really are.
The evolutionists like, and promote, this situation, because it allows them to shoot down straw men, they create, and look good while doing it. I have chosen the word transcendentalist, (hang on, let me put my teeth back in) as a moniker. Yes, I may have redefined transcendence, but I wonder, for instance, how many different ways the word "genesis" has been used, and with what organizations. All the excitement of origins. Henri.

What central falsehood in our sciences
Has led our thoughts astray on origins?

For those who have just joined us, whatever the evolutionists say about the process of evolution, we know, because they tell us that God is not in the picture, their sequence of events is something like the following: Nothing, heat (or gravity), hydrogen and helium, stars, rocks, DNA, bugs, people, thoughts, smart phones.
With that, "Nothing" is the initial state for everything, and maybe smart phones can be considered the final, final state. So when we're asking to pick any two, we think that is a simple logical (and scientific) statement. Eg: Heat is an initial state for bugs as the final state. Catch the idea.
