Short answer

What is that word for all high-tech machines,

When multiple components have a need

Of complex diagnostics on view screens?

Where seamless tasks are only guaranteed

When every part works with each other part.

We want that word to capture mystery:

How is it possible to be that smart?

And when we don't want some lame history,

But want to summarize using one word,

We sometimes use it as a humorous retort.

When some intelligence has been conferred,

We know that something special has been wrought.

When moving and shaking has gone before,

That word? It's complicated, say no more.

Oh contemplate the Universe with us, to hunt the spark to consciousness.

Mathematical

Infinite numbers

Intentional

A choice.

Structural

All modular.

Nonfictional

Touch it.

Biological

The programming.

Spectacle

Quantum entanglement.

Listen up

Oh contemplate the Universe to see,

There's structures there at every depth of field.

The microscopic is technology,

The Earth possesses its magnetic shield,

The galaxies and stars are far from cold,

And outer space is mostly made of space.

They tell us it's a fluke and very old,

But everything just seems to have its place.

The energies are tight, with fire and ice,

The details speak, when anybody looks,

Its mechanistic ways seem so precise,

And our descriptions fill, mountains of books.

Those structures speak of youth and energy.

They speak of universal synergy.

The Universe, at a macroscopic and microscopic level, runs, like a mechanism which is physically connected, by a set of rules which can be described mathematically with some of the most elegant formulae devised by humans. The Laws don't wear out, they just are. Do we look inside or outside the Universe for the source of this order? (A chicken/egg question) The Laws themselves cannot be used to determine the source of these very Laws.

Therefore, we lean toward the idea that the laws came first or have, somehow, existed from eternity. Who are we? We are beings who can appreciate that this elegance and order is an essential prerequisite to undertake our journey. And, when studying and discovering these laws, we are contemplating the transcendent and eternal.
